Default Looking into aftermarket wheels, need help

im looking into purchasing these wheels. it says that they can be drilled into a 5x115 pattern. they are 19x9.5. with a 38 offset. will these work? the compatible cars deal says they wont fit. is it the width of the wheels that is too large? or the offset? i dont know what offset works on these cars. i dont know all these fitment questions, as ive never purchased aftermarket wheels before and had to figure out all this info before. so any help would be appreciated.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-NEW-SPEC-1-SP08-19x9-5-WHEELS-GLOSS-BLACK-MACHINED-RIMS-5-LUG-CUSTOM-DRILLED-/141512225692?hash=item20f2c9339c&vxp=mtr&rmvSB=true

they have different sizes available as well. from what ive gathered the 9.5 on a 38 offset will either stick out past the fenders, or rub struts. so there are a few other options available also.

so what would be my best bet? i thought the 8.5 wide in the 18 or 19s with the 32 offset would be my best option? i dont know. ive never had to do all this for a aftermarket wheel before. lol

it may be close depending on the size tire you choose to go with the rim itself should mount and be pretty close to flush with the vehicle but the tires rubbing on the struts will be the problem on these car i have 20 X 9 on mine they are 35 offset ill add a pic

do you have rubbing with your set up? i dont know if id want the 18's or 19's so havent even began to look at tires yet. basically just trying to figure out rim fitment before i dive into tires also. but it sounds like i need to figure both out at the same time.

yes you need to figure both out because that 19 x 9.5 rim may fit good by itself but with a tire it may rub the strut. i dont have any rubbing on mine im close to the strut but not rubbing even on bumps it doesnt rub

Check OEWheels LLC. I'd go with at least a 18x10.5 in the rear (if you're set on getting 18s). Personally Id go with 17s and put a bigger tire on there

well if i do the 18x8.5 ill probably stick to a size pretty close to stock. so probably do a 235 50 18. as it should be pretty close.
i dont know what size tire would be equivilanet to stock in a 19x8.5

i used to know of a tire and size calculator to do plus sizing and it would recommend a tire size that would be equivalent to the stock dimensions

** edit, found a calculator. if going 19x8.5 id do a 235/45R19

just found out the stock rim width is 7.5 with a 9.5 wide tire. i dont know if a 235 on a 18 or 19 will have the "stretched" tire look to it, or if i need to go a hair wider

i got to looking around it looks like a 245 45 18 would work, or a 245 40 19.

Running 18x9 +36 offset with 275 40 18''s all around, yes all 4four corners, and have no rub. I think the 9.5'' would be cutting it very close.

ok how does offset work. the bigger the number the more it sticks out? like a 35,36 or 38 will stick further out than say a 32?

The lower the number the more the wheel will stick out. +35 to +42 is a pretty good look on w-bodies. You could easily pull of the 18x8.5's with the +35 offset. The 19x8.5's with the +32 offset would work. You will definitely be rolling the fenders with those. A 9" wheel on the rear is pushing it.

On my 99 I run 5x114.3, 18x8 +35 on 245/45-18. My fenders have been rolled for a long time as the car is lowered on the GMPP kit. This bolt pattern works and it opens up more possibilities. I am running boss style 353 concave on my 99.

Hope this helps.

awesome. thanks for that bit of info.
ill ask the company if i could get the 18x8.5 with a 35 offset in the 5x115 bolt pattern, as the website says that will be a 5x114.3. never hurts to ask.
why would it go to a 32 offset with the 19x8.5? couldnt i just plus size the tire between the 18 and 19 and still get the same overall height with a 19 as the 18?

i likre those wheels on your gp. if i could get those in something darker id love to have those.

The height is not the issue with the whee and tire. It's the offset and how the wheel sits farther out. You could always adjust the camber so that the wheels sit more in at the top. I've seen some do that when running an 18x9 with a +32 offset.

These are the wheels I have. I had to go with 5x114.3 since they didn't offer the 5x115 on the color choice I went with.
