issues pulling bcm codes?
I've said this a few times on here, but i use AutoEnginuity, i really like it. It is able to talk to all the modules on the vehicle.
For instance, you can see the wheel speed of each wheel, while you are driving. You will need a laptop with it though.

i did have it scan awhile ago thats where it was pointing to a wheel sensor. granted then the car would have to move a few feet before the lights showed up. lately its right when you start it.

I'm not a fan of throwing parts at things like that either. But, with computers like this is can be difficult without the correct tools. If you have a multi meter you can check the outputs of all the wheel sensors, you can check the bus lines to make sure they are communicating. You can make sure the EBCM has ground and power.
The best way in my opinion is to back probe the connect, some prefer to pierce the wires, but i only do this in hard to reach areas. If you do make any holes into any wires, fill them in with clear silicone sealant.
