Default New LS4 Intake Mani Option

Between B. Furches and Overkill (and others where applicable) we seem to be getting an inrush of new performance opportunities for these cars.

search "overkill ls4" in google and you'll find it.

It looks to be as close to a bolt in solution as you can get!
I'm anxious to see someone try this.

He wants over 1500 dollars for that manifold....not on your life. I am actually working on a solution right now using the speedmaster (pp typhoon) manifold that was recently tested in the hot rod mag LS intake manifold shootout. It is comparable to the LS6 in power production, and is offered in both 86 and 96mm options. Not to mention its CHEAP. Picked mine up for 180 brand new on ebay, they retail for 220 with everything included to install it, gaskets, fittings etc. Just need a matching TB and possibly rails. Ill be posting pictures of it tuesday when I get it in.

Will be interesting to see if the Speedmaster fits by the power steering pump and its lines, I'm gonna guess it won't. The Dorman LS1/LS6 intake manifold doesn't fit the LS4 either.

Yeh im gonna test fit it and take some measurements, but from the pictures i have been able to find, the rear corner of the manfold seems to have the exact same shape as the LS6, the shorter runners seem to allow more clearance around the pump section as well. Aftermarket rails will be another thing entirely but I dont think that will be too bad. The dorman LS6 is the fast 78 lower so it makes sense that it has trouble with fitment just like all the other fast manifolds.

I'm interested to see all of the outcomes really.
Keep in mind for the $$ you're getting fuel logs, injectors, tb, and a mani that needs no cutting.

Quite frankly I'm thrilled to see all of the developments in the ls4 community lately

If were gonna be real about the money the more superior 90mm tbss intake (even to the ls6) is only 120 bucks brand new. I'll leave it at that.

**** for $1500 you could get a used FAST 92, LS2 TB, rails, injectors, etc. That price is real steep but I'm sure there'll be people buying in to it.

Im curious to know if anyone has dyno'ed it to see what kinda gains it has over the LS4, or over any of the other manifolds for that price. Id be willing to bet based on the design its not that much different from a TBSS manifold.

I have been running a truck manifold since March. Pretty sure the aesthetics part of Will's intake came from mine since I directly worked with Nathan.

its very diffrent, its why it makes stupid power all through the RPM band. espcially when ported the LQ4 truck intakes arent really "portable". which is why users typically get a 15whp gain by swapping to the TBSS

Have you actually seen a dyno of this intake?

Ahhhhh so this isnt a custom aluminum piece from scratch, this is a reworked truck manifold. I see now, i was wondering why it looked so much like the truck manifold, wasnt sure from the picture if it was composite or aluminum or not.

also i would not be using a cast aluminum intake, once that ****** is heatsoaked your not going to continue to make good power with it. Composite is the way of the future for a reason unless were talking high boost applications
