Default ls2 cam

Well about to replace my lifters on my car very soon. I was suggested to do a ls2 cam. Is there any info I need on the installation?

you can use it, not sure if its a single bolt or 3 bolt you might need a conversion sprocket for it, make sure you replace the cam retainer plate at the same time. There are better cam's out there though if your buying a cam.

If you're going to all that trouble I'd get Pat G to spec you out a cam. That way you get exactly what you want and you're not left disappointed.

I kinda want the ls2 cam. I'm not looking for big gains. Just an improvement over the stock cam. I need a writeup of everything I need to do for that swap

You don't have to go big, but just going with an LS2 cam seems like a lot of work for not much in gains. My 216/220 cam had better power down low than the stock cam and made a lot more power up top.

But for a parts list you can do a search and find all that's needed. Make sure you upgrade the timing chain. You'll need new lifters and trays. Various gaskets, bolts, and fluids. Plan on pulling the motor as it will be a lot easier than doing the work inside the vehicle.

Yes, but why go to all the effort of installing a new cam to not get what you wanted when you could've spent a couple hundred more getting exactly what you want out of the vehicle. I'm not saying the LS2 won't make gains over the LS4. I'm just saying that you can get a cam spec'd to exactly what you want instead of falling short of what you expected.

I know. I would do the same thing. I just put the specs there to compare the two cams just in case anyone was unclear on the specs. A custom grind or an aftermarket cam between say 212 and 224 with over .550 lift would definitely get more out of the car.
