Default What kind of lug nuts do you use?

After switching back to my summer tires this weekend I am fed up with the crap style of lugs that have the casing that simply sits over top of the nut. Where can I get lugs that aren't like the cheap crap ones from my pics below?

For a GXP its tough to find anything that matches because of the different lengths front to back.. I painted my factory lugs black. I even tried to find a tuner set that would match, no go. You could use something like this on the rear, its cheap enough.

Fronts would be factory replacements which would probably cost a left nut or these Dorman that are most likely crap like all Dorman is.

Good luck, post back your findings.

So the back ones are 12mm x 1.50 ... is that correct?

What are the front ones?

Those fronts from Dorman say 14? I don't have them so I don't really know if they are different than the rears.

Description says they are 12mm x 1.5

On a GXP you really need the longer ones up front otherwise it looks silly... lug nuts should ride fairly flush with the rim face... I just am not sure right now what the factory measurements are I know I saw it somewhere online...

The link from Amazon are the factory fronts and have the dimensions listed, and I agree if it doesn't look right then it isn't worth the effort. Hard to find anything that matches front and rear, I have spent a lot of time looking for something to no avail.

I'm not sure if the acorn style will work cause from my understanding that is what I already have. A nut with a stupid hollow cap that eventually just strips itself off. Do they make actual solid piece ones? I've bought tonnes that look and feel like they were machined from one solid piece and then that bulls*it happens when I go to torque them. At this point i'm almost willing to pay more because it's getting really hard to torque my lugs lol

Good thing you are willing to pay more then, because you will for sure with those Gorilla. And they don't have the fronts either that I could find.

What about on a Mc? I tried looking at the gorilla website but I didn't see any. I like the stock looking ones but some of mine have the rubber grommet and some don't, not sure if I can buy that separately or not...but I'm gonna be in the market for some new ones pretty soon...

I havent measured them but i think they need to be 2.5" or you can run open ended lugs. But he shouldnt have staggered wheels on a monte.

I use McGard Lugs on both my cars. They've been awesome. Much better than stock.

McGard Part no. 64012 is what I have on the Monte and my old GTP.

This is some what off topic, but be very careful with these stock style lug nuts. They are known to have there outer cover round out, and then someone, "a tire shop" will hammer on a smaller sized socket, squishing the soft metal under the cap around the stud threads preventing you from being able to remove the lug nut without melting it off.
