Bought my second LS4 car in barely 2 months! So, my girlfriend has had a 2007 4 banger G6 since 2008, and has taken quite a liking to my Impala. I guess you could say she's actually repoed it, as her G6 is for sale on the front lawn and Craigslist...
And I just bought a new GXP
Picked up a 26,000 mile '06! Supposedly the previous owner is a 92 year old lady...I'm getting it from her great grandson. I already left a deposit...picking it up Friday night!
So, the exhaust seems louder than my SS? I assume that's common with GXPs? If I leave the stock catback on it, but do a ZZP DP, how much additional volume will I get out of it? I've been considering a Magnaflow catback, but at $900+, it doesn't seem worth it.
I'm considering adding the ZZP DP and having the resonator removed. Any advice on what that will sound like? Other than those mods, a Cold Air Inductions CAI (put one on the Impala and am happy with the results), and finally doing a datalog and getting my DiabLew tune done, the car will probably stay stock mechanically. I sold GXPs when they were brand new, and almost bought one new. Glad to finally be getting one!

Nice find!!! I have a ls4 with low miles too (25,000 to be exact). Cannot answer any questions on the exhaust, because im still in my stock phase
anyway.....
I read a forum about the 3400 impalas front strut tower bar being compatible with the ls4 engines. Went to the junkyard and found a set within 2 minutes of being there. Upon installation, the bar rubbed against the alternator. I used a hammer to put a nice size dent where the bar rest on the alternator. AND IT FITS!!!!
Just saved you on buying a $200 modified bar from Don Rome( no disrespect to him).
