I think I might have skipped a step no? THe wire harness is completely out... was I supposed to run the fuel rail dry or something first?
Or are you saying I can keep the fuel pressure intact and remove the intake from underneath the rail?

You can just unbolt the 4 bolts holding the rail on to the intake manifold and pull it out, pressure will remain in the rail. Then just lay that aside and remove everything else from the intake manifold. Then unbolt the I believe 10 bolts holding it to the engine and away it goes.

You can relieve fuel pressure one of 2 ways:
Take the schrader valve cap off and bleed it out by pressing on the valve with a rag.
You can also remove the fuel pump relay while the car is running and it'll stall when the fuel pressure drops.
