Default Snow tires

Hi there, I'm considering getting some generic Grand Prix wheels to run snow tires on my GXP. Has anyone else done this, or would it compromise something else (I believe MPH would be miscalculated) and not be worth the trouble?
I think stock Grand Prix rims are 16 inches and the stock GXPs are 18. Thanks for your help!

The wheel diameter is irrelevant. You want the loaded tire radius of the snow tire to match the OEM tire, or as close as possible. Measure it from the wheel center to the ground with the car sitting level.

I don't think the 16" wheels will fit over the brakes. pretty sure you need 17's to clear them.

Use this calculator to find out exactly what size tire/wheel combo you need to stay in spec.

What some don't understand in this thread is that you have to have a 17inch wheel to clear the factory brakes. The 17inch spares steels were available on buick lacrosse Lucerne and and Bonneville gxps. EBay is your friend

Not sure if the GXP's are the same but i have 16inch steel wheels on my 2007 Impala SS. Im using the General snow tires and they are Awesome very good inivestment for the winter.
