If you delete DoD you will have many more cam options.

Hopefully someone with more Ls4 knowledge will pop in here, just trying to give ya ideas.

If you do the DoD delete and 3 bolt cam gear sprocket conversion, also different intake? then you can run any cam made for a Ls1, Ls2, Ls6 which would make your options unlimited.

For sure he will be installing an intake and injectors with rails when the heads come off, bigger throttle body, headers, high stall converter as all are a must for use with the biggest cams.

As already stated, once you delete all the dod parts any ls cam will fit. You'll need a different intake and full exhaust for sure. The specs of that cam are extremely large for a 5.3. In a street driven 5.3 I feel like low 230s duration is about as large one should go.

I believe the 2007 Ls 4 monte ss cam is
.482 / .490 cheapest bang for the buck is comp cams roller rockers sku # 19025-16 $471.12 for the set. They are 1.82:1 @ tickperformance. Effectively bringing valve opening to .542 /.550. Valves will hit the pistons at .600. Holley tall valve covers are needed for clearance pn 241-111 $219.95 / pair with hardware. Also a nice hard set of pushrods from summits pn1457325 $ 104.97 / set. Save your money and don't do an intake / throttle body mod unless you plan on turning crazy rpms.
Also with the MAS , just cut away the webing with a razor blade being careful not to touch or Nick the sensor wires. Your car will be drivable to the dyno / tuner but will run like crap on the way.also our factory injectors have a wide flow range so just to give ya stuff to think about. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the insight on custom cam grinds. As for the dod delete kit I'd suggest using the Chevy kit # CMB-09-0026 at summit for $390.52.
