2008 GXP, engine and transmission R&R
Hey there, new to this forum, but have been burning up the search trying to find an answer to my million dollar question.......will the transmission and engine come out TOGETHER thru the top??
My trans is out in my GXP. I have no lift at home to ease the cradle drop procedure. I have seen posts with photos of folks that did it through the bottom with no lift, my problem is I need to keep it rolling while trans is being rebuilt.
I also need to change balancer, replace engine and transmission mounts, and might as well get the rear seal and oil pan gasket.
I did some poking around, looks to me like:
-pull axles
-remove radiator/condenser
-remove ac lines
-remove master cylinder and abs module
-remove crossover and exhaust manifolds
-coolant hoses
-cooler lines
-airbox, battery, fusebox, etc
-remove harness
Looks like then the engine and transmission should be tight fit but nothing seems like can't be worked around.
Thanks in advance,
