Default LS4 Engine Rebuild ideas

Hello everyone; I am new to the forums. I have an 06 Impala with the LS4 and I was trying to get some ideas on as to how I can rebuild my motor to make more power. I’m an experienced wrench turner (not mechanic because I’m not certified) with access to a shop and will be tearing out the motor and rebuilding it myself. The transmission will be sent to TEP to get the best build they offer. My current mods include

K/N CAI
DT Headers and 3’ pipes, hi flow cat, glass packs
Improved MAF and tune courtesy of Will overkill
W-Body BC racing Coilovers

My intentions are to crank up horsepower, remove DOD, and AFM, New Cam, and obviously swap the intake manifold (should I port my intake as well?) but keep it naturally aspirated and not too crazy on the Cam but crazy enough. Feel free to include other parts I missed that can help with sustainability of the new rebuilt motor as well as increased durability.

Just to make one thing clear money is not an issue so I am willing to listen to all ideas and suggestions. Thank you for your responses and if you need more clarification on my intent feel free to ask.

There is a ton of info on this forum, you’ll have to search it out as there isn’t much traffic here anymore. From what I’ve been told, there is more traffic on the Facebook LS4 Nation group. I’d join that group of your looking for feedback. Good luck with your build.

Most people do cams with supporting parts. A few have bored their engine out to a 5.7, but it really runs the $$$ up. They do run good though. You could also look at going the turbo route.

Which cams are a good choice but not too crazy, maybe the level below the best? Is there certain supporting parts I should be looking at or could I mix and match LS parts?

OnAllCylinders did an upgrade guide on the engine. https://www.onallcylinders.com/2018/...e-performance/ It covers some of the limitations of the engine if ever used in an engine swap application, but there are a few nuggets in the article you may find handy.

Thanks for for the heads up, I’ll check them out. Since the obviously don’t have our car I assume the kits they have are interchangeable with our engines?

Also does anybody have any 2 cents on the TBSS intake? I’ve heard people sell it already modified but if I did have to modify is it worth it or should I get an LS6 intake?

Ok like where your head is at but how am I even suppose to bolt this up?
Besides I plan on keeping my LS4, the goal is to tear is apart and beef it up.
