Pics of the Modified GTP downpipe install
So i proceeded to pull the stocker out and i modified the top S curve out of the new one.
All i had to do was that and cut about 3/4" out of the middle and re weld it back up. Also had to modify the flange where it mates with the exhaust system, the stud spread was slightly wider, so i just had to cut the slots out.
Bolted up just fine, no leaks. Shut off the codes for the rear o2 sensor and tested it, its a little lean at WOT now .875Mv instead of about 910Mv where it should be around, but the exhaust sounds awesome, now its pretty loud actually. And it seems to have helped on top end, it pulls pretty hard above 4500 even more than before now. Id say maybe a tenth or two it gained, maybe 1-2 mph.
The stock DP isnt as bad as the GTP's, but the main pipe coming down into the cat is double walled, it has a 2" pipe on the inside and a funnel at the inlet that really restricts it, the U bend is as sever as the GTP too, but non the less its there...
