Default Smaller bolt-ons

So I was thinking me coming from a SC V6 world I know that they (L67/L32s) are usually pretty good with the ignition system (plugs, wires, and coil packs) from the factory until way down the road. But it seems that alot of LT1, LS1, LS2 and LS6 seem to benefit from upgrading those pretty earily. Would these help us at all. Mainly the wires and coil packs is what I'm thinking, and they should be the same as any newer LS2/LS6. I don't know just looking for some cheap ways to up the performance in the wifes car.

LSx motors do have very good ignitions. I did change out my wires to MSD... mainly just cause I had the mod bug... they were 50 bucks. If you do get them get the truck wires... they are longer (i got the car wires and they barely reached). And some TR55 spark plugs wouldn't hurt either I guess. MSD does sell aftermarket ignition coils which are good for multiple spark discharge. Everyone bashes them as not worth the money since they are close to 450-500 bucks. However everyone that bashes them haven't actually tried them. Several that do have them say the engine runs smoother etc.

LSx motors don't need ignition upgrades until you start pushing crazy amounts of power, or nitrous. Most people get different plugs and wires because something failed, are using nitrous, or simply don't realize it isn't nedded.

Which is why "need" is such a useless term when dealing with fast cars. lol

A 500 HP Z06 doesn't "need" headers and a cam

But yeah you won't see any real tangible gains by upgrading the LSx ignition.

But the money spent on the coils is the same as you would spend on tuning software and get a noticable gain. The tr55's are definitely a good cheap mod to help with kr. My WS6 was running 11.80's with n2o and the stock ignition system was sufficient with the tr6 plugs and no other ignition mods. Hell if you are going to spend that for an easy bolt on see if the lsx intake will fit.
