Check summit racing. They make a DoD Delete Kit for about $400. Looks pretty interesting !

 

Will a regular bell housing Chevy pattern transmission bolt up to this the bell housing pattern looks off. Considering one for a swap

 

Have over 100k miles on 07 SS w/DoD no problems . On freeway level grnd. it will be in 4 cyl. mode at 80 mph cruising along until you hit an upgrade then back to 8 cyl. seamless operation. You should have no worries about it. Use good oil and change when down to 20-25% oil life.
