Default 3 Questions!!

I have an 06 Impala SS and love it but am wondering about a few thins I've noticed.

1. There is a recall for the brakes, what does thic consist of and what is it for.

2. Where can I find GM's technical service bullitens. I know I used to view them for free when I had my Camaro.

3. Anyone having issues with the Bose system. I get an annoying ticking noise that happens about once every 1/2 an hour to an hour. Not a huge deal but annoying when it happens and unacceptable in a $31,000 car with the top of the line sound system. Dealer says it's fine and I don't have time to let them keep the car right now. I will schedule tiume and take someone for a ride and drive until we hear it nect time. Just want to know if it's known and if anyone else has experienced that.

Despite that one complaint great car. Fun and practical for a family guy, nice mixture.

On the ticking noise from the Bose system. I notice it came from my cell phone. Whenever I had it on in the car I would get that same noise every 20 to 30 min. So I just turn it off whenever Im in the car. Ive never had the problem since. As for the other issues, Im still researching it myself.

Thanks, I will test that out. The recall was just a software update. Not sure what it was changing though.

x2 on the cell phone interference. Certain frequencies affect speakers somehow. Around where I live Cingular's phones cause alot of interference.

I've noticed the cell phone thing as well, in my old car I could tell when my phone was going to ring 3-5 seconds before it would actualy go off becuase the speakers would start makeing noise.

The brake issue is just a reprogram that adjusts the rear brakes, if i recall correctly. It was implemented b/c everyone complained that the car took too long to stop completely. No biggie. Maybe 1hr of your time, if it hadn't been done before you got the car.

Not actual bulletins, but if you pop in your VIN you can check to see if any new system programs are out there for your vehicle. It's not updated to your car, per se, but if you print out all of the systems now, you can check back on occasion to see if new programs were developed to combat issues with your ride.
