Nav in a 06 monte

Just guessing... but I think it would involve some programming from your dealer to match the VIN number to your car. And this is assuming that the connectors are the same. I know of some who have mentioned wanting to do it... but never anybody who has actually done it.

i have started to research the issue. hard to get info tho. seems GM has different units for every differnt car/truck.. when i had my Ram 1500 Rumble Bee all i did was find a NAV unit, plug it in and sell the old one.. was easy. dodge made 2 different units and they work in all dodge vehicles.. GM on the other hand is a bit different.. just my luck.. lol

Yeah know what you mean... GM will change one little thing on something that makes it a pain in the *** to swap over. Like im trying to work out using a 90mm LS2 throttle body and it has a 6 pin connector instead of an 8 pin connector like our LS4 throttle body... even though they use the same computer. 
With GM, you'd be lucky to get the 6-disc mp3 Black Tie radio to work with the single-disc Black-tie radio. ***theads!
They sold me an XM radio upgrade to my mp3 single-cd unit when i bought the car (i actually asked for it) and they didn't even have (still don't have) an add-on XM package for this radio.
It should be available in Jan. 2007, or so smelled the smoke they blew up my a$$ (yet again). My sales mgr said they just finished the SUV/Truck radio XM upgrade and are actively working on the Sedan/small car upgrade.
In the mean time, due to their mistake, they installed an aftermarket XM radio and have been paying for my XM service since 12/05.

ok.. foind a aftermarket nav system i would like. but there is something about size on the Pioneer site. i wanted the AVH-P6800DVD LINK Something about the size of the unit, bla bla.. is that for the faceplate? that can be trimmed right?? anyone know what i can do to get this in my dash?

double-din It's nothing special, size-wise. You'll need a Double-din install kit/bracket, though. Scosche makes one, and they also make the necessary wiring adapters you'll need to keep your door chimes and onstar going through the speakers.
