Default Exhaust w/no mufflers

Everything is stock still I just removed the mufflers and put pies in place, same tips.http://s165.photobucket.com/albums/u64/manoloffogg/

That sounds good! I think mine would be just the right amount of obnoxious with no cat and just the resonator. Time to lop off the muffs.

Flow's sound too tinny like a 3.1 V6 and magna flow is to expensive, this firts the bill for me.

Exactly why I did it. Now I want it to be more obnoxious!! I am going 3in all the way I think. I want it loud now!bwaaa

If you like it awesome, but I see two problems with it

1) It is raspy, almost like cheap exhaust

2) I like my Magnaflow because it doesn't droan/get annoying at highway and in DoD mode. That sounds like it would droan bad. Maybe it doesn't. .

Anywho, just by .02

In 4cyl mode it sounds like **** to me I just try to have it in 8 as much as i can til I get the programmer. Oh and yes it drones but not as bad as I thought it would on the highway. What exactly do you guys think it will sound like with 3in all the way back with the hogan w/cat and res no muffs?

I listened to yours a while back and loved how it sounded. I am wondering if you have done anything else yet.
Iknow how buffalos sounds w/catback.
I know how yours sounded with only downpipe.
I also listened to the other guy but I forgot what he had done.
I just wish I could hear every style. I want the hogan w/cat and 3in all the way back. I wonder if I should leave res or take it out. I think I will spend alot before I have it the way I want.

Hey, if you DON'T do 3" and want a set of MagnaFlow tips (the ones that come on the MF cat back (4" tips on 2.5" piping) i'll be getting rid of a set soon. They shipped me replacements for my two left tips but i had already had the one turned the right way and re-welded. I'll be putting them on eBay soon.

No i still have the stock cat back in place in its entirety other than the cat-less DP.

Ive had many people tell me its quite loud and they can hear me two cars ahead of them when taking off at a stop light.

Im up inthe air as to cut the mufflers off quite yet i guess. Im trying to go for this goal of decent HP and as much stock parts as i can keep in place.

If I can get as close as that I would be happy. I am doing this because I miss the bark like that camaro. I built a mustang(i know you guys probably don't like them but it was mean and cheap to build) a few years back(it didn't sound like the camaro but you know what I mean BARK!) and had the baddest sounding exhaust but I did everything except the block, 1.7 rockers, b303 cam, gt-40 heads, edelbrock performer lower intake, went to carb w/650 edelbrock, ceramic coated headers, solid motor mounts which I broke then went to half rubber half steel, 3.73 gears but the exhaust was a prochamber if you guys have ever heard of that. It was an x-pipe with a square chamber in the middle w/ not cats or muffs. I wish you guys could hear it. I did other things but you guys don't want to hear it I bet.

Do you think I could get it to sound like the camaro with out messing with my warranty( aside from exhaust). I would really like to do everything badls1 and area did but I assume warranty isn't an issue for them.

just leave ur gear selector on 3rd. then it wont go into 4 cyl mode

Can you post a pic of them on the car. I like the look of the stock ones but they are too small but if they are too big it won't fit the holes.

or as I previously posted, disable the DOD altogether via a tune - I did it with my Predator - I always drive around in Drive[D] and now I never go into 4 cyl mode - it's always in 8.

I also tuned some fueling stuff, and even though I'm always on 8 cyl.'s and getting a lot more power now, I'm getting better mileage than I was with the DOD on.

I gave up trying - my MCSS has the Magnaflow system, with the resonator and stock D/P - cat. Has a nice rumble inside and from 4 - 7 o'clock (rear) of the car, but you can't hear it above traffic on the outside. You can hear the rumble inside the house when it's idling in the drive. But like you said - no bark at all.

Another confusing thing to me is why did the Z's come from the factory w/o a resonator, yet the same LSx engine in the W-Body's have the resonator? Dual cats versus single? 2 inch D/P? My thoughts are carry over S/C'd V6 engineering.

My plans are to program out the DoD in the spring, install the Hogan D/P, and possibly remove the resonator. Don't know how far I will go with the sound though because I need a car that I can entertain with if needed.
