Woa woa wao dude!

WTF??????????

"Getting married and need a SUV" ...

Nothing in the rule book says you need a SUV when you get married or a minivan when you have one kid.

Someone back me up here please ...

You don't have a Corvette or a Camaro. The Monte is a darn nice car. I would never trade it for an SUV, unless you're buying a ranch in Montana where there are no snowplows.

Tell her if you put the rear seats down, you have a SSUV.

This is more like she wants a new car, so you'll sell yours and buy her what she wants, and you drive some beater - isn't it???

Look at the pic of my old Monte ... that was sold to buy a washer / dryer and refrigerator.

Dude - come to your senses - remove this post. You have to learn to say "no".

LMAO

I've got 11, 10 and 3 y.o daughters and just the Impala. You can make due plus-one'ing it via marriage and not give up your ride.

Or are you heading to the Chevy Dealer to p/u the TrailblazerSS? I could handle that, i guess...LOL

well.. i know it sounds bad.. but we want to get rid of the 2 door for a 4 door. We are starting a family and i am thinking about a trailblazer SS or a Jeep SRT-8. maybe a Hummer H3.. not sure yet.. But here in PA the winters suck and not having a 4x4 isn't fun. this is my 1st year without a 4x4 and i'm not liking it. I can't keep the SS and affoed a NICE suv. so i will have to trade or sell the SS. I do love this car. very nice ride and tons of power. But i figured if i can get into a SUV after we get married in Oct of this year i can start looking for another trans am and have a toy car next year.

Alright, like Buffalo says, respect for the above SUV's. H3 looks way cool, but is way slow.

Winters suck here as well, but I figured I only need 4WD maybe 5 legitimate times / year, the rest of the time I go sssloooooowww. I like to hack into the curves the other 360 days.

Agree - throwing a kid in the back of a 2 door ain't easy, but it's great for building up the thighs, back and biceps. LOL.

Stick to your manhood and get the TBSS or the SRT-8. Anything less than that (like the "nice" 6 cylinder models) and you'll be doing this when you're spending an extra $250 / month on diapers and formula / food and have to wait another 8 years to get a toy.

Good luck!

Let’s see, Eddie’s got money and hopefully won’t be going for Chapter 13 in a couple of years, Buffalo’s advice on making due is dead on, and I also agree with most of what Kaz has said. Love the SSUV! I had a 79 Z-28 when I got married and only gave it up because it had 240K and leaked everything but gas. I tried to settle for a regular car and that only lasted for less than 2 years. She’d have to suck start a leaf blower for me to even remotely consider giving up a fine ride like yours. When I moved to the country and needed a truck I had the means to get a new one, but if you really need an SSUV, get a used one and give the marriage a couple of years.

Good luck which ever way you decide. There is always time for toys, but the longer you go with out, the more reasons they will find to keep you from them.

Why don't you get your wife a new practical car or sport ute (like I did), get an Impala SS so the kids will easily fit (like I did) and an old but fairly nice 4x4 pickup to drive on the really bad days (like I did).

hell, I have a 10 and 8 year old... they have no problems getting into the back of my Monte...

I sold the minivan back in 2005 and got my Monte, then we bought the wife an Equinox - so SHE could have the 4 doors and AWD for any bad weather.

but like I said, the 3 or 4 times a week I need to cart them around, they get in and out of the back with no problems.

and I don't believe this: "WE want to get rid of the 2 door for a 4 door".... that should read SHE wants ME to get rid of the 2 door for a 4 door... LOL Why doesn't she get rid of HER car and get a 4 door???

Nooooooooooooooooooo.... LOL

I had a Mustang GT and thought I needed a 4x4 so I got a Z71 and the wife had a minivan. The 4x4 was nice the few times I actually used it, but it like the minivan and bigger SUVs handle like crap. Man did I miss the sports car ride. Get a set of snow tires and you can go almost as far as an SUV before getting stuck. If you want the added traction, you should look at the AWD cars. When I bought my IMPSS I was also looking at the Subaru Legacy GT. 0-60 in the low 5 sec range, and AWD traction. Fight the urge... keep a nice handling vehicle.

I don't have that much money, I am just very frugal and know how to spend it wisely. The fiance and I just spend our money well and can afford nice things. We scrimp and save on other things to be able to afford big, nice ones.

Well.. I know you guys think it's her.. But it's really not all her. I am thinking if I do this now I can get another TA next summer.. She is a doctor and I own my own company so $$ isn't much of a issue but right now we have a house to rebuild, a wedding and a honeymoon to pay for. So I can't afford the SS and a SUV right now since we are saving for so much. And like I said I’m not feeling the best in this car in the winter. This is my 1st year with no 4x4 and I’m just not 100% happy with it. I would rather have a 4x4 and a fun car for the summers. But right now I need to do what is smart and get the 4x4 and then get the fun car after the wedding and all that. I love this car, so this didn't come easy. But make a sacrifice now to get something nice later. I am really thinking about the new camaro when they come out. But for now I have to do what I have to do.. Just wanted to post on here to see if there was any interest on someone buying my SS..
