What do stock 06/07 impala ss run?
Is it better to run with the traction control off or on? do you manually shift it or leave it in D? I am going to run mine in the next week and I am curious what it should run.

If it's not tuned, pull to the line in with the selector in 2nd, and leave it there the whole way down. That way it won't shift into third at 5300 rpm. I've been to the track twice and have some terrible 60 ft times, so I'm not giving advice the launch. I'm still working on the driver mod.

The one's who have run have turned T/C off...but beware not to let it slip too much, b/c the differential score protection will kick in and put your nose on the steering wheel...LOL.
I think the best we've seen with a relatively stock SS is 13.9 (just new mufflers, iirc)

IIRC? so stick it in 2nd and run it down the track like that? Or turn off the tc and manually shift?

turn off TC, put it in second - launch and go... shift into 3rd when necessary... by starting out in 2nd, you are able to hold the gear longer (into higher rpm's) so the pcm won't shift into 3rd too early on ya.. when you get close to redline you can slap that beotch into 3rd.
oh, and IIRC = If I Remember Correctly

14.002 @ 99 with a 2.2 60 foot and 1100 miles on mine was bone stock, i always leave the shifter in 3rd when at the track. I like letting the computer do its thing and calling the shots on the shifts. Diff score was interviening though (one wheel peel complete power kill) T/C off
13.69 @ 102 with a 2.1 60 foot with 9000 miles (GF driving) , tuned by me, stock air box/paper filter, off road DP, stock everything else, 1st gear shift point to 6100, 2nd gear shift point at 5800 or 95mph. No diff score and t/c dissabled.

My Impala SS is also completely stock, but I don't have any offical 1/4 mile times. Though I do have experience. I raced 2 different 350 Z 6 speeds at a 1/8 th mile drag and beat both of them by 2 cars. Both drivers claimed to have stock 350Z's and they go to these events regularly. So they weren't bad drivers.

I thought that they might be a little slower, i raced a nbs mustang from a dead stop at a red-light oneday, and he pulled me about a half a fender and after that i had him by about a fender before the wife started screaming lol..(i just kindy held my head a little higher after that).... by the way it is a flat out awsome car to drive everyday....

Save yourself the money and just get a K&N replacement and pull the 60mm tube out of the box.
I don't see this MCSS as a drag car, but the thing is real nice on the highway or back country roads for passing.
Badd has a vid of his car doing 50-100.
