Hogan performance downpipe On the hogan performance website under the info for the high flow cats for our cars it has this warning.
"Note: We have had one recent report of a check engine light with this item. This has not been a reoccurring issue but we thought it best to inform you of the possibility. There are several companies who offer computer reprogramming or computer tuner to eliminate this issue."
so what causes the check engine light to come on, and what can be done to correct the problem?

this is happening to me I am dealing with the same issue. the check engine light comes on. I have the diablo 93octane tune. I clear the light and it stays off for a while. I am going to get a O2 sim. and install it underneath.
I e-mailed Curt w/this exact question. Here's what he told me:
"Thank you for the interest. The issue with the false code setting
is due to the fact that the larger tubing used to increase flow and
decrease back pressure allows the exhaust to flow much quicker than
the factory unit. The rear O2 sensor reads oxygen content but the
increased flow makes it more difficult to get a good reading. We use
an OBDII compliant converter which stores oxygen in the rear bed to
help alleviate this issue but it is not fool proof on all models."
As far as fixing it, if you get this problem, like his site says, you'll have to get a tune.

Since we're on the subject of the DP, why do some people claim they noticed no difference in performance, either w/the DP or w/o? Did they not have right supporting mods? Are they just not easily impressed?

From what I've gathered, there's a menu on the predator that lists the codes and allows you to "remove" them. There's probably a few others on here who have actually been using it, who could be of more assistance.

before and after the dp. nothing changed in power. nadda zilch zip.

I have a 3" DP made by "Jimmy C Racing" on the GXP and couldn't tell a difference on the way the car felt. But I went from a 14.3 @ 98 in 85* weather to 14.1 @ 99 in 90* weather same track, damn near identical weather conditions (I.E.- humidity and wind) and track prep just warmer temp. So do they help I would say yes they have to a little. I don't think you will ever fully get the benefits until we open up the engine side of the house like a cam or rockers. Of course this was on a GXP and they are some much better then SS twins with mods right, how else can the aftermarket exhaust systems make 1 billion more HP on them instead of the SS twins, stupid aftermarket companies with their bull chit claims of power.
