Default 2006 Impala SS

I just bought a 2006 Impala SS, and was wondering if there were exhaust kits available for these.

Thanks,

I was searching for FlowMaster for some reason.

EDIT:

Anyone have MPG numbers before and after putting one of these on?

My gas mileage sucks before and after putting the system on. Probably worse now because it sounds so much better.

Went from a high point of 21ish to a present 19.7 lifetime w/ 20K of mainly highway travel in 6 months.

Did you also get the K&N air breather put on?

I went with the K&N panel replacement, removed the 60mm tube.

Total cost = $45

Is the 60mm pipe you're talking about in this post

https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls4-performance/664879-what-60mm-tube-everyone-talking-about-removing.html

what you're talking about now?

If so, is there a guide on how to do this, with the K&N part number and all that somewhere?

I want to get the most from my V8 without spending much more than $1,200 total. Already I'm thinking that having the MagnaFlow exhaust is going to cost about $1,000.

Yep - I wrote the instructions, can't get more basic than it is, you'll see once you dig into it.

I thought Badd's G/F had her best run with the OEM paper element in, so it's your call whether or not you want to buy the K&N.

The only K&N box I have in my garage has P/N 33-2334 on it, got the filter and exhaust from Summit, had the filter the next business day, and a couple days on a direct ship from the factory. Double check the P/N before you buy.

PM BuffaloSS, he at one point had 2 systems.

There's also at least two huge threads on exhaust, with input ranging from removing the resonator, to swaping out the mufflers, to the complete MF system. Read them, maybe they will add $$$ insight to your final decision.

I did read them (I think). Most, if not all, said they didn't notice any marked improvement in performance, but they did think it sounded better.

If that is the case, I'm not going to have the exhaust manifold changed and just go with 3" pipe from there, and get the MF mufflers and stainless steal tips.

Do what I did, go to an exhaust shop and have them rig up some 3" pipe (I left out the ubend and resonator) and you could get some generic hi-flo cats and mufflers and be under the price of a MF system. I spent the extra money for some kooks mufflers that sound awesome. Performance wise, there is a small difference of the line, because the engine can scavenge more air out and bring more in (having a CAI helps too.) The sound is definately louder with a 3" pipe, as in when cruising you hear a defnate V8 droan.

The MF system is kinda a love it or hate it sound. I hate the raspy-ness that my friend's system has. He loves it. My system is a bit more deep and can be heard inside the cabin. I have 4" angle cut tips and they look and sound great.

Well, I've only owned this since March 1st, so I'm just starting to look into this kinda stuff. I'll go price stuff this next week at the local exhaust shops and throw up the numbers here and see what you guys think.

edit:

I am a complete noob on exaust, but is the U bend even on the MF kit?

No ... the U-Bend is right before the M/F or any cat back:

Edit: here is another option, but again there's a thread with the +/-'s of it:

When you're done looking around and decide to go magnaflow, go to PerformancePeddler dotcom and find the kit (i think it's #16707). When you go to check out, enter code GOOGLE4E and it will drop the price significantly to around $530. You can then call Summit Racing and ask them to beat that price. If you're lucky, they'll send you two and you can sell one on eBay

See, I'm good for SOMEthing here LOL. I can't take credit, as someone else pointed that out to me, but it's an awesome deal! Goes to show how much these systems REALLY cost.

I got my MF exhaust for my GXP for under $500 (shipped) from them. Of course, it has not been made yet, but that is beside point

I actually just had it washed. 15 minutes earlier it was raining, and 15 minutes after I took the shots it was raining again. Actually, that is why some of those pics were in the carport instead of on the drive, it started misting and I had to dry off the sides of the car that I was taking the pictures.
