Default PERFECT fit of ZZP Strut Brace adapters.

Awhile ago someone posted some pics of this job on a Impala SS. Well I just installed them on my 06 Monte SS and they are a perfect fit, and the hood closes perfectly! I know his hood was up a bit. Guys, if you play with it, it will fit perfectly and the hood closes just fine. Nice job ZZP!

PICS!

So, you didn't have the bundle of wires to contend with at the driver-side strut?

Yeah you remove one nut and thats it...Just push the wires down the side. Lots of play and lots of room! I am pleased, the car feels entirely different!

So that's not a grounding ring that is holding it in place (the wires)? I guess not, seeing that you have no problems now LOL

Now, the real Q is just how long did you spend detailing the engine bay after installing the bar?

Haha, my engine bay always looks like that! I think all those metal pieces do is hold the wiring in place. It is definitely not a ground point.

I don't know about that... I was just under my hood, and the wire harness to the fuse box didn't want to move AT ALL.... neither did the connectors on the drivers side...

You've got to unscrew the bolts. That little silver, metal rectangle has a hole in it that the bolt goes thru and secures it.

I don't think they're ground points either, b/c on one of the 2 on the driver's side I just put it between the brace and the bracket and tightened it down. Haven't had any problems yet. Hopefully it stays that way

Ok if you look at my full engine bay picture above, the pasenger side strut tower where the big wire goes into the fuse box, all that wire was being held by on the strut tower was a PLASTIC type fastener that simply pressed down on a screw there coming out from the metal so that CANT be a ground point. As for the drivers side, there were 2 electrical connectors that were held down by a nut on the strut tower. If you closely examine the metal pieces that secure these electrical connections to the strut tower, you will see that they are simply a "brace" type thing and do not ground to anything they are just pieces to hold the 2 connectors in place, thats it!

Cool. I just cleaned my bay last night and plan to remove the front STB and paint the brackets, so i'll see if i can push those down and get them safely out of the way.

Need to find some "Pig Spit" to really shine it up.

Just took off the brace last night to paint the brackets and maybe the bar...we'll see. I've got a can of high-temp clearcoat that i'll slap on there too afterwards. Might purdy up the engine cover, too, even though it'll just sit in the shed anyway (no corny...not going as far as you did though).
