In all seriousness, if someone with an 07SS or GXP, same tranny as the 05-06GXP, put III in there when it requires VI...would that void the warranty on the trans? Could that actually hold up in court should someone try to fight it by saying that they're the same transmission???

Your 06 came with dexron III, but dexron VI will work. The 07's have dexron VI. You can use the VI if it came with III.
Don't know where you're getting this from, but my Owner's Manual says we have Dexron VI.
FWIW, I was going to upgrade my trans fluid to Royal Purple, but didn't see it was a replacement for Dexron VI (it is for Dexron III), so I e-mailed them. They said it's not yet an authorized replacement for Dexron VI and they told me not to use it. Figured I could listen to them since they were trying NOT to sell me their product. $.02

I'm sorry, the 05's have dexron III, 06 and up has dexron VI. I did find out the VI is full synthetic and the III is not. The two should not be mixed but the VI can replace the III. The III can replace the VI if you want, but I wouldn't. Sorry for the hassle/confusion I may have created.
