The bigger front tires are supposed to make a better handling package for road use. Supposedly, the car is faster on a road course by a couple of seconds over the Impala SS (GM test). The package of wider front tires (reduce understeer), Bilstein shocks, and larger brakes (c4 vette brakes were used for the engineering car(s) and were the target) were supposed to make the car more suitable for even a track day or two. The front fenders on the GXP are wider than a standard GP to accomodate the wider front tires. The front wheel openings are already rolled/clearanced from the factory.

We just have to buy new front tires. Front tires will need to be replaced sooner than rears anyways.

Stock for stock, the S/C'd V-6 would get better gas milage, which mine averaged 5.5 mpg over the MCSS. That equals $$$ with todays retarded gas prices. Still needs premium though.
A few of my friends have the GP. Exterior is OK, I don't like the interior unless one of my friends is in it ... then I really don't notice it.
