K&N CAI for the gxps claims more horse and better millege. Is it worth the price, or should i just save my money. I am mostley concerned with the millege. Did your millege improve or go down. Thanks

As for HP, the gain is nominal. The sound is good, and when coupled with other mods such as exhaust, rockers/springs, and a tune, it can net anywhere from 3-15 rwhp depending on what other supporting mods you have.

As for gas mileage, it won't be a huge factor since you are not drastically changing fuel amounts or a/f ratio.

Well, since I had the CAI from Cold Air Inductions and I have also tested the K&N Aircharger, I can tell you from first hand on both.

The CAI is a cool design, very well made. ITs kinda tight when you put the TCM ontop of the PCM during the install, so you need to be carful on that. As for the sound of it, you do not hear anything untill you get atleast 3-4K in the rpm band and you do feel alittle bit of extra power with it. I did pick up about 1 MPG more then stock air box, but I also have the magnaflow cat/back on my car aswell.

The K&N is a basic air charger, very well made again, but better design for the PCM and TCM to go too. Also, when you start up the car, you can hear the K&N right away and you can also feel the power alittle sooner in the RPM band, probley around 2000-2500 vs the CAI. I believe this is also true because of the tubing they give you to use vs the stock tubing.

The real way to get the best results out of a cold air intake is to get a custom tune done to your car, but I can tell you from trying both, the K&N to me is alittle bit better of an intake then the CAI. You feel the performance earlier and you can hear it sucking in the air. The only downfall is that the K&N can intake some hot air from the engine bay, so you might want to get some heat tape, and put it around the outside of the box.

There really isnt a good place to get air from the outside on these cars, so the CAI from cold air inductions really limits you to what air can come into the box and cone, where the K&N will pick up more IMHO.

The Cold Air Inductions CAI is more of an aesthetic piece, the K&N is business.

I just wanted performance, and at first glance, it looks rather stock. But the CAI one is aluminum with a giant box...and so forth.
