Default WO2 Grand National style "blackout" SS Impala package

Being a former owner of a Grand National I always was partial to the WE4 blackout package front end on those cars, so I thought I could try it on my SS Impala. I was never a big fan of the SS not having special front end badging or something different from the run of the mill Impala. I took some vinyl tape used for making signs and some red pinstripe and came up with this. Now all I need is buffalo SS to "bake" me up some headlights.

Default Black out

I think that looks outstanding! Can you give a little more detail on how you did it / what materials you used!

Rock on!

My friend ownes a sign shop and the black overlay is the vinyl used to make letters/designs on the signs. It is cut with a lazer in his computer and it is somewhat flexable and sticky on the back side. I sized it the best I could and overlayed it on the chrome/chevy symbol, streched it with some heat and cut to size with an exacto knife. The chev symbol was a little tricky but it is beveled nice to apply the red pinstripe. If you look really close you can see some seams as the vinyl is not long enough to go around the whole chrome inlet. It took me about 2 hrs. to complete, you have to be patient and careful not to cut or score the paint or chrome with the knife.

Excellent work! One of my plans was to actually paint all my chrome pieces black...nice to see it in action. Very nice work on the bowtie too. Any chance for some closeups? Now all you need to do is join the blacked out headlight crew!

Yeah, you got me there. I thought he was only talking about the bowtie, but after close inspection, I see that he was talking about both. Now why don't you take one of those gold stars and shove it up your *** you freakin' troll.

Not when it comes the way you dished it out, and BTW, it's AN initiative. Man, please learn how to properly use the English language. Go back to night school or something.

Look, I don't want to waste my time or anyone else's in this forum, so I'll tell you what... You stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours. If you have a problem with anything I say on here, or you think my questions or comments are superfluous, just send me a PM. Deal?

Here are some closeups of the bowties

If you look close you can see the overlays of the vinyl I was talking about, subtle but still there. One good thing about this method is if you dont like it, just tear it off, back to stock.
