06 monte carlo running hot

Occasionally my Monte Carlo will go to about 215/220 F when I'm idling in traffic and the outside temperature is around 100F. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had there temp go above 210F. I've never had a car that's gone above 210 unless something is wrong with it. Yes there is coolant... Yes it has 6 quarts of oil. Yes the fans are working.

Does anyone else have a thick film built up in there overflow tank ?

Yep mine runs hot too. Looks like the car is getting full amsoil when i change it...

Hey....just something to say here: Unless you are adding a solution or great news to a nagging, reoccurring topic, don't make useless posts on semi-old threads.
