This is odd?
My car resets itself. Let me explain. I set up my EQ on the radio and occassionally it clears itself to flatline. That's odd... Once in a while, my compass clears itself, no reason. That's odd... Once in a while, I go to start my car and the starter cranks and cranks, then I turn the key off and back on and it starts instantly. That's odd...
Does anyone else have these occassional odd things happen to them, and is this an early warning sign of a computer problem???

My radio does do weird things. For instance it will randomly start at the beginning of the CD. But nothing to the extent you are talking about. I've never had a cranking problem. One turn over and its started. When you turn your key you should easily hear the fuel pump turn on i would listen for it just to knock that out.
Don't know about your other issues, but the radio thing, I may be able to add some insight to. For every "input" on your radio (AM/FM, disc, aux), you can have a different EQ setting. For example, if you're listening to a CD and set the EQ to certain parameters, then decide to switch over to your mp3 player, the EQ setting will not follow, (unless you've already set it to the same parameters).
Does that make sense?

Yeah I get that same thing sometimes. For example, the passenger seatbelt light won't go off, and I get a message in the DIC that says check seatbelt system. Or sometimes it doesn't even recognize when there's no passenger there lol....

SS Black...sounds like your battery connection is failing you...or the internal memory is going bad.
Whenever you pull the neg cable to the battery, the items that need to eventually be reset are the clock, the radio EQ and other settings (Speed Comp. Volume, # preset pages) and the compass.

Very common for the Chevy's to go through Alt and Battery problems together at once.

Unfortunately, the car just came back from the dealer after I complained about 5-6 problems that they hopefully fixed. I'll put it on my list for next time!

I had the same problem they updated the BCM
No comments on electrical problems because I'm not going to jinks mine.
But ... my GMC Safari AWD tow vehicle would do a self - cal / reset at least once a month on the DIC.
Different manufactures; generations of hardware and software between the two.
Mine went in last month for a TPMS issue, walked away with that nice new module that works from 200 yards away, and had the entire car reflashed to Sept '07 software.

I just keep adding stuff to my list for the dealer. Each time i log in someone reminds me about a problem i have forgotten about. Therefore, each time i log in i effectively need to add two days to the amount of time the car will be at the dealer.

If I were Buff, I would look at driving a panzer tiger II. Do what i do i make a list and throw it at them because theres so much **** i keep forgetting something. Now my drivers power seat is messing up. The front part of the seat wont raise or lower but i hear the motor trying. Also i have alot of popping in the steering for some reason now. I don't want to take it in cause i don't want them making it worse or telling me "we can't duplicate the problem"
my steering has been making the "popping" noise for a while... first they replaced the Intermediate Steering Shaft (yes replaced, not just lubed), that didn't fix it... so now they have a new steering rack ordered...
