No, it's essentially the same tranny that's been used in all te 00 to current Impalas and other W-bodys. It's listed as the HD tranny but that's not really making much of a difference. It's really not going to handle all that power over time, especially if you're driving it hard. The 4T65EHD tranny was used in the V6 S/C SS's too and the GTP's, supercharged Regals, etc. It's only been used in front wheel drive applications. So I'm sure there are some significant differences from the tranny that's in the TA.

Glad to see somew new blood in the ls4. ahh turbo kits. i remember when Us original GXP owners when they first came out was screaming just for a way to tune the car haha.
hell i belive i was the Very first person to modify a GP GXP lol. had pics posted and everythign rofl. i think area can back me on that lol he should remember me.
where are some dang track times!!!!!!!!!!!. i dont care if your in a blizzard!
with the HP/tq your pushing. based on horrible traction i will say hi 13's 14s lol but withprobly a insane trap speed of 114ish
if you get grip ill say mid-high 12's@112mph
if you could get some meaty et streets or something on the front.
hmm id say you could run 12.3 to 12.5 range. ls4 make alot of tq fast so if you can get that power to stick i can see that car running mid 12 easily.
if anything. i gurantee you thats a beast of a car to roll race from 60+ from. i always loved hitting rolls from 70mph when i was stock in my GXP. with the turbo setup. id imagine your a cobra killer from a roll easily.

It's already been to the track. Ran 12.3x forget the speed. That was with traction problems and I don't think he had the tune dialed in at it's best yet.

When I said "get rid of it" I didn't mean it as if he was ready to give it away. He is up in Canada and they recently enacted a law against street racing and high-speed driving that would ultimatly result in getting him locked up. I can understand the dilemma. If I had that much power at the wheels, I don't think I could keep myself from egging on every rice POS into a race at every stoplight...or any other vehicle for that matter.

Ah, okay. Got it. They've done some laws like that here in Kansas, too, but they don't really enforce them. Considering the majority of our vehicles can elude a crown vic..

It's REALLY bad here, the shitty thing is the law is 50km/h over the limit they impound the car, lose license and min 2k fine.
Most people drive 120-130km/h on the highway which has a limit of 100km/h so from 120 to get to 150 is REALLY, REALLY quick and in that second or two you can lose your car/license/crazy fine....that really blows.
GXPWill I will get back to your PM just give me a day or so, cool?

Traffic laws are a provincial matter. I believe that the penalties that GXPJAY refers to are specific to Ontario.
Since I don't street race, I haven't checked into the the penalties for that in Alberta, but regular speeding fines are pretty expensive here. It's not hard to lose your license for speeding.

I want to point out....that these laws are not for street racing.
I can be alone, on a divided toll road 3 lanes wide each way, Alone, if I go 50km/h over the limit my car would get impounded/lose license/fines.
This will not impact sales/build of the kit in any way.....Kevin has stock of everything ready to go! This law is specific to Ontario and it's retarded.
I have to say, this car is retarded. I'm running 8psi right now and I'm maxing out the MAF at 512g/s Can't wait to turn it back up to 12psi once the weather is better.

I'm having a similar issue with my CAI. Overloading the MAF, it seems, causing it to throw craps at the computer. :\ But, any speculative pricing on these kits? I read 800$ a while back, but, what's the actual price now?
I be wrong; Not sure where I pulled that number from.

Haha Don't know where I got that. I'd be interested in taking out a loan to use this on my car, though. My only issue is this: Obviously it will void the warranty, and I don't assume they pick up where it left off.
