I did the same thing but used the 4x9x14 center inlet/outlet mufflers. Exhaust shop was able to make them work just fine. Sounds awesome!

after taking out my resonator I love the sound of my Magnaflow. And to note there is a big difference in the stock pipes compared to after market.

If you're looking into getting a DP, why not just do the complete exhaust and not just mufflers?

Here's another idea....delete your resonator for now (very cheap...$50)...that will give you the sound upgrade you want...save your money...do the entire exhaust at once when you're all saved up.

I have been told removing the resonator makes it sound raspy. I dont want that sound..........I am not a big fan of catbacks.....usually my local exhaust shop can get me the same results at a cheaper price!

I appreciate all the suggestions though!!!!

The idea was that the resonator removal would be temporary...but anyways....good luck.

I have no resonator. I have a 3 inch down pipe w/high flow cats. 3" piping to y pipe, 2 1/2 inch after y pipe to flowmaster 40 series delta flow mufflers. Not raspy at all. Sounds mean

Having the resonator removed wont make it sound raspy, it just may give you some interior drone which if you don't do alot of highway driving won't really matter. But as mentioned above I'd just save up some cash and get the whole exhaust done at once. Or you can still pick up your mufflers and tips now but wait to have them put it til you can afford to have them do all new piping and everything. Unless you're just looking for sound and no performance gain then just getting mufflers will be fine.
