Most of us with tuning capabilities are performance-minded and have done away with AFM/DoD altogether...so i doubt anyone has tweaked the system for max mpg's.

I disabled it and dialed in my fueling for part- and full throttle, and my mileage went up...

I wish there were a way to make it kick on earlier and let it work at higher speeds and acceleration. Idle in 4cyl unless in neutral would be nice too.

20.5 to 21.... with 50/50 city/highway driving, and getting on it whenever I have enough room in front of me...

I recall reading someplace or 'nother about someone who tweeked the program to make it stay in 4 cyl mode (once you entered it) unless you really got on it. Something like changing the absolute throttle position trigger from 4% to 11% or some such thing. There was a claim of several MPG highway improvement, but that is all from memory. Just keep the speed down a little bit, I swear you can pick what economy you want just by moving 1-2 MPH up or down.

I'm averaging 21 MPG stock city/highway driving. But it requires effort to keep the speed at 60-62 MPH on the highway and coasting in idle/neutral as much as possible on the streets.

I am averaging 21.5-22 mpg overall. Never bother to check city, but on the highway 55-65 i get around 25-27 mpg and at 75-80 i get around 22-25 if it stays in V4 mode, in V8 mode i get around 19-21 at 75-80.

So it all equals out in the end, 21.5 isn't good by V6 standards, but for a V8 i think we are all doing well.

Yes, I have. Since I put the Hogan 3 inch catless downpipe on I'd say I've lost about 1 mpg or so. Might be in my tune for the downpipe, I dunno. I disabled all sensor 2 bank 1 codes and all cat. tests. It runs better and the stock exhaust actually sounds pretty mean. I dunno maybe I just am in it more cause I like the sound.

I think that might be my problem too, I have been driving it harder lately. Which codes did you disable? I only disabled the p00420 code for cat efficiency, I didnt mess with anything else because that turned off my CEL.

Like I said, I disabled any bank 1 sensor 2 o2 codes that are seen by the computer. I also disabled the cat tests and over temp protection test in my tune. The computer still reads the secondary o2 sensor but it can't throw a code based upon what it reads. I plan on running a wideband o2 sensor in place of the second factory o2 sensor. So I pretty much tuned out that sensor.

Ok guys, back to the original question. I have HPT and have tweaked the DOD to not be so annoying (kicking in and out so often) and have had some really good results. If I keep a moderate pace (50-60 no highway) and speed up before hills (instead of on them) I can get an avg of low 30s in the DIC on a 1 way trip. By this I mean driving about 30-40 miles of mixed driving, minimal take off, and no idle time. The best I had gotten with the stock tune on the same road and conditons was around 27MPGs. All I have to say is play with the Vac tables to either keep it in more or less to your liking. I know no one on here likes DOD/AFM but with gas prices its hard to ignore its advantages. Also, the car is completely stock other than the tuning (No CAI, Hogan, etc)
