Well ive got some new ambition to start work on the monte again... After the Camaro being somewhat successful, ive decided i should move forward on the LS4 next.
Since ive got some snow meats for the S10 and 500 lbs in the ***, it should get through the snow a bit better so i can park the monte for a week or so...
I will start this project in the next week or two and take pics and give updates etc...
But as it stands right now a 05' LS2 cam will going in combined with the exsisting 1.8 rockers and 918 springs. Should be a nice 30-40 hp kick in the jones w/o negating the DOD. Dont really want a big lumpy cam and have it make even more low end which it doesnt really need more of.

Also pics of the Trans before and after you blow it up.
JK
You really should think about beefing up the Trans if you are going to go with a cam. These Trans are only good for about 345HP total before you will run into problems.

The trans im not terribly concerned with at the moment, i will reinstate TM on the shifts to prolong the ineveteble.
Just had a leaky trans cooler line replaced and had them flush the somwhat dark looking fluid. Anything will help.
13.1 was with my own HPT tune, rockers, springs, ORDP, CIA and DR's

LOL let us know when that trans fails on you then. No one should buy a cam and not even think about upgrading the trans. With our trans, you could do a filter/flush every day, but its not going to help the wear and stress your going to put on it with the extra power.

I had the cam laying here from an 05' GTO that i rebuilt the LS2 on... So its not costing me anything but time and aggrivation to do this.
Im not oblivious to the fact that trans is the fuseable link in this situation, ill take care of it when and if it happens. These V8 spec'd 65E's have more of a fighting chance with some of the "hard parts" in them from the factory compared to that used in L67 cars early on too.
The turbo GXP's trans seems to be surviving about 100+ more power than what mine will be capable of dishing out...
Im prepaired to deal with it.

Well the S10 goes through the snow like a tank now with the new meats and the 500 lbs.
So i figure next week sometime i will tear into it. Just wanna get the cam done, the intake i can save for another time, as ill have to re work alot of stuff to make that fit.

I would recommend having your exhaust manifolds ported or honed while the engines out since headers aren't available yet also look into into having them ceramic coated for even more gains.
