kept up with an M3
I hope this engine is in production for a very long time its so good.... I'm just saying that running any engine up to 8000 is a bit excessive for an everyday car, and most bmw owners run their cars everyday. There is so much wear and heat at that speed. Those engine will be blowing smoking at 40K... I mean the engine is what 4 liters? Moving a car that weighs over 3500 lbs, with a power peak like that I can't imagine it being all that strong down low. But at least it's not like a honda s2000. Meh to each his own, I just prefer a broad and resposive powerband, and an engine that doesnt need to strain. I also want a motor that does not consume so much fuel. I'm a pushrod fan for those reasons. Simplicity of design makes all this possible. The Corvette and the Viper single handedly keep proving OHV is more than relevant. That Blue Devil is going to just be the best peformer.....
It is over 60 grand though. You could make a push rod engine go pretty damn fast for that.
Your GP has the DOHC 3.4 in it right? I assume you're talking about a regular 3.4 not that one?
