If you're planning on using the non-adjustable, pedestal style rockers (P/N144759A-16), and haven't shaved heads or decked the block, then you need the stock length pushrods.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong
, the stock length is 7.4 inch for the LS4. They are available in either 5/16 or 3/8 in dia. chromemoly. Search either Crane or Comp Cams websites for a P/N.
You might want to also consider replacing the springs with something a bit stronger. The Comp Cam '918' springs seem fairly popular, or the Crane 144832-16 springs.

Just ordered the HS rockers a couple of hours ago, should be here within a week ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Probably won't be installing anything until April, but by then I should have:
LS6 intake
Hogan DP
Magnaflow cat back
Rockers, springs, pushrods
CAI
all ready to go. Then retuning with HPT.
Going to have a couple of busy weekends

LS6 intake? Does it really flow that much more over the LS4 intake? I was under the impression that the LS4 intake wasn't really a big restriction, especially at the RPM range the stock cam is designed for. I would think you would be better off spending your money on ported manifolds or something.

Well, I probably should have said LS6 intake manifold. It's in pretty high demand among the LS1 crowd for cheap, bolt on hp, makes something like 15 hp over the LS1 manifold.
There is a huge D shaped restriction behind the TB on the LS4 intake where the manifold is necked down to clear the oil pressure sending unit, and a few other things projecting out into the plenum that may interfere with airflow, so I'm hoping for better results than the LS1's get from the swap (only the dyno will tell us what the results are).
Cost/benefit wise, at $300 (used) this was roughly half the price of a cat back system, with the same or more power potential.
I'd love to get the heads ported and drop in a cam, but with this being my daily driver, I can't afford the down time (I live out of town, so no transit alternatives to get to work).
Anything more ambitious will have to wait for a project car. The thread posted by BLKCOFY has inspired me to follow his lead and dump this engine/trans into a Fiero - I'm looking for a project vehicle now.

I haven't priced out the pushrods yet, but here's the rest of what I priced out.
Desc P/N Cost Supplier
Valley Cover 12580901 $224.69 Lake Chev
LS6 intake (used) $300.00 private sale
Crane Valve Springs 144832-16 $155.95 Summit
HS 1.8 Roller Rockers 144759A-16 $500.44 Harland Sharp
Hogan Downpipe DP7A $299.95 Hogan
Magnaflow Exhaust 16726 $636.00 Mopac
Crane Retainers 144944-16 $64.39 Summit
Crane Keepers 99108-1 $31.99 Summit
Total $2,213.41
At the moment I have purchased the valley cover, intake, rockers, those prices are with shipping, tax, customs broker fees included (where applicable). Everything else is just the posted web price. I'll do the Summit and Hogan orders in March, and pick up the cat back in April from a local performance shop.
Install is free in my garage

FWIW, you're overpaying for the exhaust...you can find it for around $500-530 at as few places. See? Just saved you $1oo towards something else
[EDIT: didn't read fully...you're in CAN and everything costs more up there ;D]
And fotoboy...afaik, HPtuners would be your best bet for tuning anything 2007+...hell, anything period!

I am going with the 1.8 Yella Terra's (non-adjustable, just torque to 25 ft lbs. and go) with Oil Restricted Pushrods from Intense. The complete package is 599.95 and includes everything. Oil Restricted Pushrods will prevent any valve float. I had them on my old GP GT and never got valve float and that engine has weaker springs then the LS4 does. I was running 1.9's with OR PR's for over 50,000 miles before she was totalled. Hope this helps anyone that does not want any headache's.

DOD will still be functional. It is just a tiny bit smaller metering hole on the pushrod that allows the lifter to stay pumped up full of oil. This WILL prevent valve float. I ran pretty much the same set up on an old 01 plain Jane GT with no problems. According to Intense's posts they have many LS4's running this set up. I believe it is good up to 6500 rpms. I think our stock shift points are a hair under 6000 rpms. Hope this helps.
