Removing SS badges?

Removing SS badges?

Does anyone know how to remove these? Are they simply stuck on with some double sided tape, or are there pegs that they line up with? I'm asking, because a friend of mine (Who is more so a master of the rattle can than I) Wants to paint them "Black Chrome" (Spray them solid silver, thin coat of black tint paint), and I want to have them like that. Anyone know how to get them off?

Yeah, double-sided tape. Use some heat and/or fishing line to get them off, then some goo-gone or other adhesive remover to get the remnants off the car.

FYI - there is one set of reflective black "SS" overlays available at the NAIOA store. Dark-gray/black from some angles and shiny, metallic silver at others.

Ah, so there's no guiding lines exept for the original marks from the 3M.. Not good.

Nope...just slap them back wherever you want.

If you're really concerned, outline the basic "parallelogram" shape of the "SS" with masking tape before you remove the badge. Should make reinstalling them much easier.

It must be. :o Anyways, I'll be working on it tonight. =) Thinking I'm going to take the "SS" off of the back, and replace the Bowtie in the front with the SS, if possible.
