Default i bought one

I'm the proud owner of a black/ebony 2007 Impala SS with just shy of 1500 miles on the odometer.

It has some garish chrome rims on it that I think I'm going to try and flip at some point, but all together its a sharp looking package.

So far, I like it. Torque steer was a bit much the first time I stomped the gas (salesman went for the oh-chit handle for the rest of the drive ) but I'm getting the hang of it. Got to drive it for 100 miles on the highway so far. Never been able to make headlights turn to pinpoints in the rearview so easily before.

Congrads Good Luck ! And try shutin that traction control that will feel like torque steer it reduces power to spinning wheel which will toss the frontend around. I use two hands when on and one hand when its off my impala with it off will burn rubber in a perfect straight line on its all over the place.

yeah i didnt think about that until i made it off of the highway and onto city streets. i went for a short drive around the neighborhood with the t/c off and it seems a little better. i cant sleep because i want to drive to work with it already.

Aren't those stock 18" Chrome monstrosity's the ugliest things you've ever seen? They offered them to me on the Monte, and I had to decline.. Just so UGLY! Anyways, good to see you bought one. As for mods you NEED (Not want, you need these to wake the car up) Any new exhaust. A 3" Downpipe. A CAI, and flip the front mount.

Probably all you can do are some STBs, progressive rate springs (Eibachs), aftermarket springs/struts, and better tires/wheels. I don't know what other aftermarket parts are available that would help with handling but some of the tubular suspension pieces they make for the GTPs might work.

The STB's will run you $140 for the pair with adapter brackets. Search and you'll find some recent posts as to where to find them. Same with the Eibach kit...two Impala owners have recently installed them. No one has replaced their struts yet, so no saying what is good out there. Regarding the other suspension items, the trailing and lateral arms are already tubular, and there are no upgrades for the solid front and rear sway bars except Poly bushings & links, if you want to go for those - you'd need 34mm & 18mm bushings, respectively.

The rear STB makes a BIG difference, so I'd bump those to the top of the list.

Those wheels you got are the OEM optional wheels as Taz pointed out. Quite ugly imo. However, the AR Killers are quite nice. Rob_Raymer has them installed on his black GXP and they look great (20" w/255/35R20 tires and the Eibach lowering kit, too).

I wasn't worried about the wheels that came with the car, because the price was a steal. I planned on getting rid of them before I ever got the car. Just need to save for a few months so I can get new wheels. 4 months from now I can buy a set... right in time for summer.

Any big diameter 'wagon wheel' will just accentuate how small your brakes are... A nice set of polished or the new chrome stock wheels (on eBay all the time) will look better IMO.

that's fine.. what he was referring to was the style of wheel, like the one posted above, with the open spokes - you can see everything through them...

the stock wheels are more solid, not as much open space, so won't see the small brake setup...

eh

im not worried about that really. it was a $10,000 difference for getting an 07 with the ugly rims or an 08 with the ones everyone likes.

with the difference, i'll just have to shove some bigger brakes on there along with the wheels

I know, but you could have found it here many times over. And wow!...Surprised they (CGP) even have any mention of him or his site there since he got banned. You can check out his work, and Flip's, too, at www.GPONA.com.
