I'm having some custom 3" exhaust piping worked up for me, from the cat on back. I have Super 44's on her right now, and I'm thinking really hard on installing the O/R 3" downpipe I have..

are catalytic converters needed for these cars? theres no emissions test or anything in my area. if i get exhaust done im thinking just straight pipes and mufflers. would this cause any issues?

If they don't test or visually inspect for a cat, and you have a tuner to delete the code that it might throw(can't remember if that would throw a code or not), than no it's not an issue.

kissmySS, when you get it all welded in, shoot me a video. There's no visual inspection here (MO), but they will fail you for a code. And as far as I know, there's no hand-held flash tuners for an 07.
Edit: How would it be 'excessive for a fwd car'? Are you implying FWD is something to be ashamed of?

You'd need like HPtuners to get rid of the code. And I wouldn't say it's necessarily excessive for a FWD as kissmyss said, but I just think it's generally excessive. I see too many people in Silverados and the like always running with straight pipes, doesn't always sound bad, but I think it would sound too raspy or something on these cars.
