GXP vs stock Honda S2000 A friend of mine just bought a 07 Honda S2000 and wants to run me and Im pretty sure I can take him what do you guys think, I have raced a few of them when I had my WRX and did not have any problem beating them, so has any one here raced one in a GXP or a SS and won?

I think there was a discussion fairly recently about this. Same scenario actually. I can't remember if the guy ever got the S2000 to run him I think the S2000 guy was scared to run him or somethin haha. Check out the thread called "how do these match up" or something like that it was in there.

S2000 drivers seem to think their cars are a lot faster than they really are, at least around here, but I think you can beat him unless he's a great driver and you aren't. I would race him from a dig because you will cream him off the line and he shouldnt be able to catch up.

Light to light I got beat by one. BUT I had a terrible launch too much wheel spin. I did not think he was going to race. On green I started of like normal when I heard his car chirp off the line I mashed it and lit the tires up. If I had more road between lights the SS would have had him. It was basicly a 0 to 60 race before the next light. The dude would not run me a second time.

I was at the track this weekend and the S2000's were running mid 15's, newer ones too.
There was a guy with a bone stock new Honda Accord V6 and he was spanking the S2000's so if you can't do it in the GXP you have some issues...

haha ahhh...the s2k does not have a honda accord 4 cyl..thats not true at all, the s2k's 4 banger is it's own and was the most powerful naturally aspirated 4 cyl in a production car when it came out. however you should still be able to handle him.

My mom bought a brand new S2K last year. One of the most fun cars I have ever driven. It is not that fast in a straight line... maybe mid-high 14 sec car out of the box. You should be able to smoke him in a GXP no prob... at least until you try and turn.
