I get 16.5mpg in daily drive, 50/50 city/highway, no matter what I do. Stock 16.5, diablo DOD 16.5, Diablo nonDOD 16.5, put my foot in it 16.5, drive like a grandpa 16.5 maybe my calculator doesn't work right. The only time I got anything different was when I tried 87 octane gas for a couple of tanks with the stock tune and then it was 15mpg. The only way I'd get 33mpg is if I left it idling while I towed it with another vehicle.

I get 19 or so if I drive it normally (that is real not DIC). Over the weekend I did about 1000 miles with the cruise locked on 63 mph the entire way and squeezed 27 MPG out of it. My problem is too much city driving in my daily driving.

the drive home however lucky if i get about 14
Mainly 1/2 throttle acceleration; coast where ever I can; late brake.

By rule of thumb, I drive 4 mph over the posted speed limit; cruise control as often as possible.

Thanks for finding the CoD #'s - like I said, pigs.

A couple of nights ago, flat highway, cruise control:

According to DIC:

74 mph - 22 mpg

70 mph - 24 mpg

65 mph - 28 mpg

Michigan is a 70 mph highway system, kinda hard to do 5 below to hit 28.

Am I the only one here that has to be the fastest car on the road? You all report 70mph trips and such...I can't do it! Hell, towing a 1000 trailer full of camping gear, I'm doing 75 through the Adirondack Mountains

On my trip from texas to indiana i was toping out at 120mph for 20/30 minutes at a time and cruising at 80. I got a ticket going threw kentucky doing 87 the only reason i slowed down to 70 was because gas mileage doubled i used almost twice as much gas on the way there then the way back when i slowed down abit.

Next week I will be driving from NY to Texas. I am down there for 3 weeks then driving back. I am talking the SS so i will log my MPG and post my results. I have noticed my DIC is 1 MPG higher than what I actually get. Either way its better than my trailblazer so I am happy.

My DIC is always pretty accurate...give or take a few tenths. I don't mind using that when I'm in a hurry. Like I mentioned, calculating MPG's is a mindnumbing practice anyway when you're not even reaching the teens during everyday driving.

How does 80 from LI to Woonsocket RI sound? My economy is terrible at the speed...My GP can get about 26 avg at that speed...

The monte will avg 24 on the highway at 70, around town ...16.. so much for breaking the engine in..

I'm usually between 75-80 on the highway. Maybe 85 depending on the flow of traffic. But 65-70 I can't do.

06MonteSS I just went up to CT this weekend. New Heaven area. Ya'll got some expensive gas up there man. It is still 3.70 for 93 around me in PA.

So on the way from PA to CT I drove 85. I used a half a gas tank for 200 miles.
I filled up in CT.
On the way back I had to drive 60-65 because a 10' uhaul truck was following me I used a quater of a gas tank in 200 miles.

Did you guys hear the news about those unmarked ships in the Persian gulf that came dangerously close to an armed American freighter? Apparently the freighter fired warning shots across the unmarked tango's bow and they changed heading....but this has the greedy OPEC f-ers in an uproar and oil prices are going to shoot up like crazyf or alittle while.
