Should I do a 50 or 75 shot with or without a tune and where is the best place to get a kit price wise? For the street (shift kit), should I go with level 2 or 3?

I've thought about getting a kit to fix the poor shifts from DS tune, assuming the kit will help that.
I have considered getting some spray. If I were to, I would go with Nitrous Outlet. They have a basic kit that sells for $350. You would also need to use their window switch. It has built in WOT detection and it also allows you to select the gears that you want nitrous activated in and the rpm range. You can even have it temporarily shut off 100-200 rpm before shift changes and reactivate after the change. It sells for an additional $110. For added insurance they also sell a fuel pressure safety switch that will shut down the system should fuel pressure drop. It sells for about $35. Some of the LS1 and LS2 guys really like this kit over Zex and some of the others. I hope this helps. Good luck!

A 10lb bottle will get you about 4 passes. With a bottle warmer you can get about 6-8 passes. It can get to be pretty expensive if you are a regular weekend racer. A ProCharger or an STS turbo would be cheaper in the long run with about the same horsepower gain and little or no additional maintenance. You can click off the same times all night with the last two options. With NOS, when the bottle runs out you are done if you bracket race.
Well I figure I go WOT 1-3 times a day....I figured N20 3 times a day was reasonable....apparently not for that price!
This is why I'm asking questions. I don't know much about this obviously.
Sounds like turbo is much more cost effective at the end of the day. I mean...whats the point of NOS if you can't use it reasonably often. Sounds like a novelty or serious racer mod to me.

1) you should NEVER run without a bottle heater... it just isn't worth the varrying pressure and is a PITA to tune.
2) I agree... a turbo is a more effective way to get hp... but a Nitrous kit can be used on any turbo upgrade in the future, or easily removed and sold if you sell the car (unlike turbo kits which are a PITA to install and you would never consider pulling to return to stock).
Oh yeah... always bring a spare bottle... nitrous doens't go bad, just store it for next time.
(some guys go as far as buying a LARGE canister and filling station at home to cut costs). With an engine with questionable tuning capabilities you maybe better off with giggle gas, but your transaxle may prefer the gradual loading of a turbo/blower... either side has it's pros and cons.
i have the nitrous express kit just sitting in my room my buddie said his friend who owns a shop and has good expierience with nitrous said that he will install, test, tune, and basically perfect the nos for my car i just havn't had the time to drop off my car to have it done...im going to run with a 75 shot at first and see how it goes from there and maybe a 100 shot depending on how the motor feels with the 75 shot
