The DMH cutout has been highly recommended over the cutout at pfyc (issues).

DMH if for sure the way to go, much less issues then QTP.

If you want a cutout the only place it makes sense is before the cat, otherwise what's the point?

Excuse my ignorance here but I've read a few things about these exhaust cut outs. It this a way to bypass the rest of the exhaust system in some stealthy way to get some extra power when you want?

i'm using QTP and i've had to rebuild it twice. Once from rust and another from screws that broke that link the drive shaft to the cutout but QTP sent me another one when i complained. So i have 3 QTP cutouts now :-\ 1 brand new.

Got mine from PFYC.com and dont bother buying the Y pipes that come with it a shop is going to have to fab own.
size 2.5inch dont get the Y pipe you'll be wasting money! You need to call around exhaust shops and see if they install cutouts some shops do this work and actually have there own cutouts and will warranty it and what not.

Most people do it for the exhaust note i know that was my original intention when i get my challenger everything will be different live and learn.

Ya I put my cut out before my mufflers because I can still drive around the street passing cops with out getting pulled over. Also you are losing a lot of low end with it before the cat...

I bought mine from Jegs for $26. It is after the cat. I did not go with the electric unit. I was told by my exhaust shop that you have to get a really good warranty because none of the electric motors last very long. I was told that they typically last 1 1/2 to 2 years. It only takes about 10 minutes for me to uncap at the track and it doesn't leak.

If you're using it for track use wouldn't it be better in front of the cat?

No matter what it's better before the cat, low end is fine!

All in all parts/labour/re&re it was $2500 but I got the labour for free, I just paid for parts.

I got a local guy to rebuild mine, he's not really a tranny rebuilder and it's a pain to do so I'm not sure he wants me to advertise.
