07 Monte Ss Tune Hello; new kid on the block here with MAJOR QUESTIONS....
I recently bought a 2007 Monte Carlo SS with 13k on it. The prior owner was a gear head im sure as the car is BEAUTIFUL but I can clearly see the mods they made;
1. Borla Cat Back
2. HID Lights
3. JL Audio equipment everywhere.
My question is, after reading here I noticed some issues about running RICH and getting tuned. When I detail the car, there is a LOTTA BLACK SMOKE residue left over on the muffler tips like the car is a MACK TRUCK or something. Could this be a TUNING ISSUE?
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED, im located in the SE (Atlanta Ga)

It was probably just a custom job, unless as you said it was modified from a different vehicle. There was a rumor before about a Borla catback being made, but that's yet to happen and Borla said they didn't have anything in the works for the LS4 when I emailed them a while back.

My Monte is not a V-6 but the 2007 5.3 V8 Engine. The mufflers clearly says Borla and when I took it to the muffler shop, the guy raised the car and said it's a Cat Back system. NOW GRANTED, I did not ask if it was made by Borla, if it was just Borla Mufflers, etc., etc. but he did say it was a NICE SYSTEM and he'd for sure NOT remove it to return to stock.
