Default ..My badges fell off.

Mkay. So let's start. I was using fishing wire to get my badges off to paint them black. Got them off, got them painted, only one (Front bowtie) remains sticky enough to stay on. So do ANY of you know what I can use to remove the black sticky gunk from the paint, and get that nice debadged look?

I used nail polish remover and no it wont strip your paint as long as you dont let it sit on it. Make sure its non acetone btw the pink kind.

Do not use nail polish remover! It has acetone in it. Simple Green is a degreaser and won't work well on sticker residue.

Any mild solvent like goo gone will work just fine.

Simple Green works just fine and dandy. Just don't spray it on and let it sit for hours on end. Spray and wipe.

Goo gone worked great for me. I wiped the area down with rubbing alcohol after, to remove the oily residue from the goo-gone.

i agree. starter fluid and a lighter = very effective at removing everything from your car.
personally... I prefer to mix some thermite in with the lighter fluid, then start it from a distance using carb/choke cleaner with the plastic nozzle as a flamethrower.

Yeah, if a lighter will light thermite, you have one hell of a lighter. Anyways, I used bug and tar remover. I have to say, the Mustang I got in to it with on the highway thought I was a V6.. And boy was he suprised.

You can't light thermite with a lighter. You have to have magnesium to light thermite.

You can make your own thermite with aluminum foil and alot of rust blended up :X
