Default sounds like a nascar!

i just got my car back from the shop today, i got hogans down pipe and my 3 inch exhuast back to magnaflow mufflers. total cost was 560.00. I also got my 3 inch cutout installed (which sounds like a nascar). the muffs are definetly quieter than the flow 44's( a lot less drone). i find my self running thru my neighborhood in first gear with the cutout open. everyone turns there heads. i also took it out on the highway to see how loud it is, did you know our cars do damn near 60 in first? it sounds a little funy shifting because of the lag, i hope to get that fixed with a tuner. i will try and get a video posted tommorow.

60 in first? What RPM are you shifting at? I'm doing 51 mph at 6,000.

Oh, and this thread is worthless without a sound clip

when you let off the gas in first around 50 mph ... it sounds like you should be on the drag strip.

yea i love it only thing i don't like about it is when i'm in traffic with the cutout its very loud @ 2 grand so its loud as hell and your barley moving lol but when u open it up its 10 times louder and ur off like a bat out of hell.

Speaking of cutout my QTP has stoped working again and im busy fixing my cadillac right now so i wont be able to look at it until wen or so. I hope if i get another cutout i can use the wiring i've already done for the QTP cause it was a bitch running the wiring. Did you wire yours urself or wha ? and if you did where did you put the switches ?? pictures ? video ?

I can't see in the pic but I reccomed going to autozone or checkers and trying to fine one of those steel/aluminum exhaust flange gaskets.

My dmh kept sticking from time to time. These gaskets are an exact 3" circle and now my dmh works perfectly.

I suspect that some people premature cutout failurs are due to this rubbing and it burns out the motors.

I'm another satisfied owner of a cut out. I love the way it sounds open, but I agree it can get kinda obnoxious after awhile. I was a cheapskate and got the manual one. Just takes about 5 minutes to get under the car and take the cap off.

Do you notice a loss of low end power with the cutout open??

Mine had that rubber gasket too. This is a steel gasket to add some clearance.

I noticed when i first started riding around with the cutout open i didnt push much into the throttle much because it was so loud so this might simulate the assumption of powerloss but after compairing closed open i noticed 0 diffrence :-\

i think i gained a little back from my previous setup. with the cut out open and and you nail the throttle, you can bake the tires off all day. i use the cutout around town and in my neighborhood. its fun too stay in tapshift mode and go from ligth to light in first... i love this thing. with my tuner, cai, i should get everything back i might have lost.
