I thought all GXP's came with a V -8. I've got a friend who bought one. He was very happy with it. He even challenged me to a race. When he got burned he put it up for sale. I still think it's a nice car though.

Go for it if you can, you won't be disappointed. I love my car more and more each day. I hit some pretty nasty corners today and pulled a .82 on my G meter. Tomorrow I'm going to try to hit .85 or higher. For a front wheel drive car, this car is about as good as it gets, period! Four doors, V8 LS4, big cross drilled rotors, Bilstein shocks and side fender vents which help to remove the heat. DVD navigation with heads up display, a driver information center, super tight seats with suede inserts and Alcoa wheels with wide front tires. Since you mentioned the GXP, I'm telling you what I like about it and what made me purchase it. I Have gotten over 25mpg and average 19.1 with a lot of stop and go.
If you had a V8 bird then I'd say keep it, but since its a V6 you really have nothing to loose. And whats all this crap about rear wheel drive being so Superior? I have hit a 2.02 60ft in this car and it can do a lot better. I drove my GXP in the snow and passed a lot of new GT Mustangs that were on the side of the road (I sware!) GM and Pontiac did a wonderful job (Thank you!) This car will take on any FWD vehicle on the road and win stock for stock and give many V8 RWD cars a run for there money stock for stock.
Every car or truck has it's problems just for the record, and not all are lemons.
I see that you have a bad *** 99 T/A so if your looking for a daily driver thats front wheel drive to replace your V6 Firebird then again do it if you can.
