Curious

Hey I was just wondering what kind of gas you all are putting in your car. I personally have been putting in 93 but with todays gas prices is anybody using the cheaper stuff without jeapordizing performance?

Mobil 93.... $4.70/gal by my house...

an hour south by where I work, it's $4.95... heh

Yeah that sucks. I use Shell or BP 93.

oooh, don't use Shell... BP is good, but don't use the shell if ya can help it... causes a lot of KR...

as for added HP with the CAI, dunno - never been on a dyno... definitely felt a noticeable difference in the SOTP dyno tho...

i use 93 sometimes 94 its around $6/gallon up here so you guys are lucky

really??

runs like **** in my Monte and a BUNCH of other peoples cars/trucks that I know... TONS of KR when using shell 93 v-power... have you ever logged for KR ??? it's not audible, can't hear a thing.. but in the data logs, it shows up BIG time...

maybe you get a different blend out there in Chicago...

Chicago has been plagued with the 10% ethonal scam for decades. It is a very, very fine Octane booster, but a not so good fuel. I have never seen even a hint of WOT tip in KR running fuel bought in the Chicago area from any supplier, but will see some when elsewhere. Of course my fuel economy tanks 8% or so when using it, but as long as the politicians get their payola (er...donations) from the corn growers special interest groups, we are stuck with it.

93 in the summer and 89 sometimes in the very cold weather. I get 20.5 mpg with a combo of city and hwy.

3.99 - reg.
4.15 - mid.
4.25 - premium

I lose 2 of my 12mpg by using 87...but at this point, I don't give a **** anymore.

ya i dont have a hand held tuner or a scan tool, soi cant do that, here in my next of the woods not to much of a choice,, its either bp or shell, mobil, so if its not going to affect nothing then iam stickin with shell or bp

I use 92/93 at 4.35 a gallon right now. Not picky on the station. Buddy of mine has used 87 in his 06 Impy SS since he got it new. I've contemplated switching, but at the same time with these prices what's a couple more bucks.

mobil 93 $4.53 where i fill up in brooklyn.
changed to synthetic (mobil 1) at 3000 mi
I went from average of 16.7 to 18.5. Maybe a
combination of engine breaking in and new oil? interesting..
just put on K&N intake today. install was a breeze. Lets see if mileage
goes up again.

$4.04 for 91 here, but on my trip I ended up paying $4.24 for 91 out of town

Havent looked for or found any place around here with over 91.

I averaged 22 mpg going about 85 most of the way with cruise on. Was around 2k rpm in v8 mode.
