Default electrical gremlins...

Just cracked 12,500 mi over the weekend.

Saturday morning, I had two issues come up on the DIC.

First was "Service Battery Charging System." This was right before I left with the woman for a 300 mile trip. Shut the car off, light comes back on with restart. Goes away on next restart.

Later on in the day, I'm driving when the airbag light comes on and "Service Airbag System." Two in one day, it reminds me of my 2000 Regal, that thing was always lit up like a christmas tree. Only thing is, that car was near 10 years old with 160k mi on it!

Going back to the dealership again this week. Third time since buying in March.

FWIW, the airbag light & DIC warning are related to your battery issue. When my battery was constantly dying on me, the SRS warnings would occur, as well as the service charging system.

What ended up being the fix in your case? New battery?

Yep theres a bulletin about the batteries. They should replace it with the ac delco pro whatever upgraded one if you are still under warranty. 720cca instead of 620cca.

Yep...got the new ACDelco battery installed. Now I can leave my hazards on for over 2 hours w/o an issue. Before the new battery, if I left the radio or hazards on for more tha 8-10min I was in need of a jump.

Well, I haven't had any issues with a dead battery up to this point.

I remember seeing a message about "Battery Saver Active" when detailing my car a month or two ago but took that as a good thing, not a warning.

I've had it on accessory or whatever on the ignition for over an hour before.

...

I'll be sure to tell them the two service warnings I got though when I get there.

I had the airbag light up a couple times when I first bought the car, but I do a ton of highway miles, so I've never had an issue w/ the battery.
