i have been a long time mopar fan.....but, i think this is the best looking retro car there is....the challenger was decent, but the weight was disappointing making it slower than it should have been. not to mention the new camero is going to get much better gas mileage than the other retro's out there.
and did i read the spec sheet right? there are going to be 3 engine choices? v6 and 2 different v8's?

I must the only person on these forums that thinks it looks like they beat the hell out of that thing with the ugly stick before clearing it for production.
Of course to be fair that vehicle is not targeted at my generation.

Exactly. That's also why the Camaro is fully loaded and costs an arm and a leg. Sadly there is no GM made fast and cheap V8 out there for the younger crowd. I guess the baseline G8 is what they get.
I'm still torn on the GTO. The LS2 powered GTOs are mean, but they were just a little too rounded off for me. Still I'd drive one of them before I'd drive the Camaro.
GM really needs to give our generation something. I was considering new car purchases yesterday and realized there really isn't a GM product on the market I want to buy right now. The CTS-V Coupe, STS-V and 'Vette all appeal to me, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that kind of money on a car at this stage in my life. I'd rather put in my home. Maybe the G8 GXP if it has the HUD and is reasonably priced.

It looks ok to me. GM is kinda late with the whole futureretroism look. Ford GT came out when 05, the camaro is like 5 years late. GM should have left it to dodge and ford. but what can ya do know.
Big factor in it s success or fall will be price. If the SS starts at like $38 000 or more I don't think it is worth it. By the time you add some goodies your in the 40's and then the stealers gotta eat. An LS3 vette starts at $46 000.

Still don't like it. I don't mind retro styling but I don't think this car looks good at all. I love the Challenger and even love the Mustangs styling over this. I wouldn't buy the new Camaro no matter what it costs. Then again my next vehicle won't be a performance vehicle anyways. The interior isn't AS bad as i first thought it would be, but I still hate the whole radio and HVAC controls set up. And the gauges behind the shifter while a nice retro touch are still stupid.
And as far as offering 2 V8's, the M6 gets an LS3 and the A6 gets the L99 with DOD and 22 less hp although I've read the A6 car is faster.
