Default Went to the track tonight

my best time was

ws6 Trans Am Grand Prix GXP
.0918 REACTION .3049
2.2501 60 ft 2.1951
6.1834 330 ft 6.0590
9.2322 1/8 et 9.2641
81.65 1/8 mph 76.92

Is this a good Et for a basicly stock gxp, only mod ins the K&N intake
I beat alot of newer mustang gt's, also beat an dumdumdumdum, cobolt ss, wrx, I almost got the Ws6, It was all stock, convertable,

I know that I could have done a whole hell of alot better than this but I could not stop roasting the tires , I even had the TC on , I just left it in auto, should I have used the tap shift??

What can I do to get in the 8's in the 1/8 mile, besides launch better

My best 1/8th time so far is an 8.99, and that was on an 2.18 60ft. How hot was it tonight when you ran? One thing I can reccomend is to shift manually from 2nd to 3rd gear, if you leave it in auto it will shift too early and that will cost you some time.

well traction control helps when starting of the line but it keeps you from pushing the pedal to the floor

whoa whoa whoa......2nd to 3rd gear in an 1/8th mile? you arent even partway through second at that point. In 1/4 you MIGHT need third as second will take you 103 MPH.

traction on or off is your choice, I've run similar times with and without it.

start in auto, as the car shifts slower in tapshift than it does on its own. If you run 1/4 mile, shift to manual after your car shifts to second to hold that gear.

Lower your front tire pressures, decrease as much weight as possible. Have fun

My bad, totally forgot he was only running 1/8th mile. Yes, in that case 3rd gear is not an issue lol.

We have a tall second gear at 1.56. With a fianal drive ratio of 2.93, the theoretical top speed in second gear is 104.3 mph - if you are bouncing off the rev limiter at 6,100 RPM and if the torque converter is locked up and if you have a stock size tire.
