Which side of the block does it go on?

I don't have one as I bought my car in the USA. I'm thinking about putting one in but need a starting point when looking underneath. Looking at the part itself, I'd guess it would involve unscrewing a large pipe threaded frost plug.

I know it was an option in the Impala, so might wanna call the dealer and ask them where they'd put it.
